100th CIMSPA Skills Development Partner

The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) is today celebrating a key milestone as Places for People Leisure become its 100th skills development partners.

Places for People Leisure are a leading UK leisure activity and wellness provider and are also a CIMSPA employer partner. The CIMSPA nationwide network of skills development partners deliver training and CPD which has been formally recognised by the sector’s chartered institute.

To begin the new partnership, Places for People Leisure has already achieved CIMSPA recognition for both its Rising Stars internal management training programme, which now awards 10 CIMSPA CPD points, and their internal safety seminars, which have been endorsed for 5 CPD points. Places for People Leisure are now working towards gaining CIMSPA endorsement for its complete suite of internal management training.

Speaking about the partnership, Kiira Gamble, Training and Development Manager for Places for People Leisure commented: “We are delighted to be CIMSPA’s 100th skills development partner. Having our development programmes recognised by our industry’s chartered institute not only validates their quality, it also means our employees gain recognition, in the form of CPD points, for keeping their skills up to date as part of their ongoing professional development.”

Tara Dillon, CIMSPA CEO added: “Congratulations to Places for People Leisure for embarking on this new CIMSPA partnership. It’s great to have another key operator add their workforce development courses to our registered training list to ensure that they are offering the best opportunities for their staff. I’ve enjoyed being involved in their Rising Stars programme over recent years and it’s great that this training initiative is now fully endorsed by CIMSPA.

“That CIMSPA now has 100 skills development partners is a testament to how sector training providers have committed to our vision. With our network of awarding organisation, skills development and employer partners we’re building end-to-end quality into the sport and physical activity sector’s workforce development processes for the first time – from qualifications through training to CPD and career development.”

Over 500 training and CPD opportunities are now formally recognised by CIMSPA and delivered by providers such as Premier Global NASM, YMCAfit, Les Mills UK and Future Fit Training, as well as from charities and healthcare providers including Cancer United, CanRehab, MIND and Later Life Training.
