1.  Join a community

Be part of the team! It’s a great way to meet new like-minded people regardless of your fitness level. These classes connect people through hard work and dedication. You don’t just sit in the class unaffected by your neighbour, you encourage each other to reach personal goals - working together with motivating instructors.

2.  It's great fun!

Time flies when you’re having fun. If you need proof of enjoyment when it comes to indoor cycling classes – just have a look at the faces of a full class in action! In an environment filled with excitement and inspiration, your class will fly by!

3.  Push to your limits

It’s great way to test and push yourself – especially if you’re new to fitness or even a particular class. Speak to your instructor, set yourself personal goals and prepare to smash them week by week! With epic playlists, motivating instructors and a supportive team you’ll have no problem reaching your potential in this environment.

4.  Set your own pace

Not feeling great today? Take it a bit easier… Had a frustrating day? Take it out on the bike! The beauty of riding and not moving is that no-one knows how fast you’re going because it doesn’t impact them.

5.  Improve mental health

Believe it or not, you may actually feel better after a class than before! You will release feel good endorphins in your blood stream which interact with receptors in your brain to trigger positive feelings in your body. You may leave the class physically tired, but mentally you’ll be on a high! This is why staying active can help combat depression and other negative mental health conditions including stress.

6.  Enhance mental strength

Classes can help you develop a positive “can-do” attitude. You can have good and bad days when riding, but the important thing is that you carry on and push through difficult times with the help of your team and instructor! Mental self-discipline is something often gained and can be applied to other areas of life involving self-control and confidence.

7.  Build lean muscle definition

The physical benefits can be incredible! The primary muscular definition you can get will be in your legs and core muscles as those are the main muscles you use to ride. It won’t be long before you start seeing the results!

8.  Cardio for a healthy heart

Cycling classes include endurance and cardiovascular training which increases heart health and lung capacity. Cardiovascular fitness is the ability of the heart, blood cells and lungs to provide oxygenated blood to our muscles allowing them to produce energy to move. The better your cardiovascular fitness, the easier it will be for you to move and stay active.

9.  Low impact exercise

Cycling is the perfect exercise for those recently recovering from an injury or surgery or just need to take things a little more gently. It is far less impact than other forms of exercise – especially on your knees, ankle and hips. This means you can control your workout more than most activities to focus on your fitness goals. You can also go further and harder without the risk of hurting yourself, helping you get the most out of your class.

10.  Reduce risk of injuries

Unused muscles and joints become weak, tired and stiff. So, when it comes to needing to move quickly, lift something heavy, or even getting out of bed, the fitter your body is the easier it is to complete daily tasks and the less injuries you will subject to. As classes are based indoors on a stationary bike, you won’t risk falling off and putting yourself in danger as you might riding a bike outdoors!
